Hey,
I heard a song on youtube you mastered a Justin Bieber-style one. I'm mixing a cover now and need those smooth and fat low-mids. My question is what kinda EQ do you use and what settings. Thank you.

Hi,
I use several type of EQs depending on the projects. The best solution is to taylor that range /as others/ at the mixing stage. The human ear is very sensitive to mid range. Frequencies below 200 Hz and above 6000 Hz need reinforcement in order to achieve a well-balanced auditory impression. Although we need low-mid range to maintain the presence of bass instruments it is right to attenuate it a little bit in most cases to eliminate boxy sound.
